The Hyundai Kona is a subcompact crossover SUV designed by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai, which was shown for the first time in June 2017. The production version will make its debut later this year. The Kona is company's smallest SUV measuring 4165mm in length, 1800mm in width. It stands 1560mm tall having a 2600mm wheelbase.
Alternative names
The car will be sold in Portugal as the Hyundai Kauai, as Kona is too similar to "cona", the slang word for the female genitalia in Portuguese. Like Kona, Kauai is a western island of Hawaii.
In the People's Republic of China, the car will be released as the Hyundai Encino.

From launch, the Kona will be available with a 1.0 litre, turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine producing 120hp or a 1.6 litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine producing 177hp with 4x4 all-wheel drive available on selected models
