Mahindra G4 Rexton           Rs  20.0 Lakh

The XUV500 will lose its flagship position in Mahindra’s lineup this year. The Mahindra G4 Rexton , which has made its official debut at the Auto Expo 2018, will soon become the most expensive SUV you can buy from the homegrown automaker. It is technically the second-gen SsangYong Rexton, but will be marketed under Mahindra’s label in its second innings in the country.

Compared to the outgoing Rexton, the new SUV is based on a brand new platform. However, it continues to be a body-on-frame offering like most of the other SUVs in this segment. Thanks to the new underpinnings, the G4 Rexton has grown dimensionally compared to the SsangYong Rexton. Mahindra also promises stiffer and lighter chassis compared to the previous model with high-strength steel (HSS) construction.

Suzuki GSX-S750

Saturday, August 18, 2018

SUZUKI GSX S750

GSX-S750 key highlights

Price                ₹ 7,54,970

Colours           BlueRed

BlueRedThe GSX-S750 will be the second Suzuki big bike model to be assembled in India after the Suzuki Hayabusa. Pricing will be key to the GSX-S750's success in India, and if Suzuki manages to price the bike between         RS. 7.5- 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom), it will make for competitive pricing to grab a foothold in the middleweight sport naked segment, which has several contenders like the Triumph Street Triple, Kawasaki Z900, Yamaha MT-09 and even the Honda CBR650F

The Suzuki GSX-S750 is Suzuki’s middleweight streetfighter that is a more manageable version of the full-fat GSX-S1000. The engine is an inline four-cylinder motor that displaces 749cc. It generates 113bhp and is kept in check by ABS and a multi-level traction control system. The instrument cluster is identical to the one in the GSX-S1000. Braking is done by twin 310mm front discs and a 250mm rear disc. It is available in two colours, blue and red.
The GSX-S750 will compete with the Kawasaki Z900, Ducati Monster 821 and Triumph Street Triple 765 because of the format and displacement. However, its tasty launch pricing means that it also competes with the likes of the smaller, less feature-rich Honda CBR650F.

In the looks department, the Suzuki GSX-S750 borrows quite a few styling cues from its elder sibling, the Suzuki GSX-S1000. In fact, it looks like a smaller version of the litre-class GSX-S1000. The 750 gets a similarly sharp front end, with a muscular fuel tank, all-digital LCD dash, and comes with standard ABS and four-level traction control. There are no riding modes offered, but what the GSX-750's strength will be its handling and performance

                                        FEATURES

  • Ready to rock the streets

SUZUKI GSX S750 Inherited directly from a GSX-R supersport machine, the powerful 749cm3 four-cylinder fuel-injected engine produces 84kW @10,500rpm and 81Nm @9,000rpm and is specially tuned and refined to maximise its potential on the streets and on winding roads. Cutting-edge technologies from the legendary GSX-R series control engine management. The downdraft double-barrel Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) system ensures efficient combustion and smooth, highly controllable power delivery throughout the engine’s broad power range. Suzuki’s digital ignition system, Idle Speed Control (ISC) and the use of iridium spark plugs contribute to linear throttle response, greater low-end torque production, easier engine startup, lower cold-start emissions, and more stable idling.

  • Three-mode traction control system

SUZUKI GSX S750 This track-bred technology provides greater confidence and reduces fatigue by delivering control over engine output that helps prevent rear wheel spin. The system operates so smoothly and naturally that it does not interfere with handling, even when the rider wishes to engage in aggressive sports riding. The rider can freely select one of three modes using the convenient handlebar switch. Mode one is for sport riding with minimal intervention; mode two offers the ideal balance for typical road conditions; and mode three delivers maximum traction control when riding in poor conditions.

  • Carefully sculptued bodywork

Highlights include the powerful lines of the chiseled fuel tank, vented front fender, light rear fender, molded mirrors, and angular tail section with integrated LED taillight, new clear turn signals, and clean layout of all wiring and hoses.
The thin seat is shaped for sport riding, and also to helps make it easier to firmly plant one’s your feet on ground and combines with the handlebars and footpegs to ensure a comfortable riding position.

  • Lightweight LCD instrumentation

The GSX-S750 features a lightweight, brightness-adjustable LCD instrument panel. Readouts include the speedometer, tachometer, traction control mode status, gear position, odometer, dual tripmeters, coolant temperatures, driving range, fuel consumption, and a clock. You can personalise the tachometer readout from a choice of five display patterns.

  • Bridgestone BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S21 tyres

The GSX-S750 is shod with Bridgestone BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S21 tyres, which feature a high level of controllability and solid feeling of traction. Specially tuned for Suzuki using the highest technology honed in the world’s most demanding races, these tyres help position the GSX-S750 at the top of the food chain.

  • Sporty, lightweight wheels

Newly designed lightweight 10-spoke cast aluminium wheels enhance the appeal of the GSX-S750.

  • Lean, clean exhaust system

The streamlined design of this updated exhaust system eliminates the need for Suzuki’s Exhaust Control Valve, improving its looks, greater performance and reduced weight. That includes the fresh, clean appearance of its new form fitting, shot peened stainless steel heat shield (Black on Z model). The system also adopts the same catalytic converter as on the GSX-S1000, which helps satisfy Euro 4 emissions regulations.

  • Variant cross-section swing arm

With tapered lines that speak of performance and sporty good looks, this new swing arm design is a perfect fit for the GSX-S750. It also features a clean and stylish new chain adjuster.

  • Radial mounted four-piston opposed front calipers

The radial mount design provides a positive feeling when applying the brakes and maximises braking control. Each of the front calipers has four opposed pistons (33.9mm x 2 & 30.2mm x 2) acting on a 310mm floating-mount disc to provide plenty of stopping power when you need it.

  • Petal-type front and rear discs

Adopting a petal-type design for the 310mm floating-mount front discs adds an even sportier look to the GSX-S750's bold styling.

  • NISSIN Antilock Brake System

The lightweight and compact Anitlock Brake System (ABS) produced by NISSIN monitors wheel speed 50 times per wheel rotation, and matches stopping power to available traction.

    SUZUKI GSX S750

  • Full control at your fingertips

Switches on the handlebars let you select traction control modes and change the LCD information displays on the fly for full control over your settings and riding environment.

  • KYB inverted front forks

Inverted front forks featuring 41mm stanchion tubes and bold-looking anodized upper tubes provide a sporty ride that is also smooth and comfortable. Spring preload can be adjusted to match the conditions and your riding preferences.

  • Shorter final drive ratio

The GSX-S750 adopts a shorter final gear ratio that helps maximise acceleration, while sixth gear retains a ratio that does not compromise top speed.

  • Tapered handlebars

Combined with black levers and a new switch design, they enhance the looks of an area that often falls within the rider’s field of vision.

  • Lightweight black footpegs

The GSX-S750 shares the same aluminium footpegs as used on the GSX-S1000. Both lightweight and sporty,
their black colouring makes them blend in naturally with the machine to enhance the bike's tough look.

  • Easy Start System

A simple press of starter button turns over the engine and starts the bike. Not having to hold the button down until the engine fires adds extra convenience when heading out on a ride.

  • Low RPM Assist

Engine speed is controlled to ensure it doesn’t drop below what is necessary to maintain a smooth idle. Low RPM Assist also monitors engine speed, enabling the rider to operate the clutch lever and pull away without opening the throttle. This helps make negotiating traffic jams and busy city streets smoother and easier.

  • Aggressive headlight design

This predator adopts its aggressive-looking headlight design and fang-shaped position lights directly from
the GSX-S1000.

VOLVO XC40

Thursday, July 05, 2018

VOLVO

Volvo has launched their most affordable product in the Indian market – the XC40. The all-new SUV is priced at Rs. 39.9 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi. The new SUV will go against the likes of BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class and the Audi Q3 in the Indian market.

While the car is available in many different variants in the international markets, in India only a single R-Design trim is available. The single variant of the model is filled with a long list of equipment. The car gets a distinctive front grille similar to all the new-age Volvo SUVs with Thor’s hammer LED DRLs integrated into the headlamps. The R-Design gives it a sporty element with the two-tone paint scheme, blacked-out grille, smoked headlamps and blacked-out roof and A-Pillars. These features are standard with all the colour schemes.

The SUV gets sharp design elements all over. It gets signature waterfall tail lamps and a very appealing overall stance. The XC40 looks like a proper SUV, which is one of the attributes that most of the rivals in India lack. The XC40 R-Design has enough reasons to turn heads on the road.
On the inside, the XC40 gets a bright orange upholstery that can be changed to black on customer’s preference. The dashboard gets a huge 9.0-inch Sensus touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, vertical A/C vents, faux-stud trim, leather-suede mixed seat covers and a panoramic sunroof. The SUV also gets a lot of safety equipment. It gets radar-based driving-assist and safety assist system that controls the adaptive cruise control, automatic collision avoidance and emergency braking. None of the cars in the segment offer a similar list of safety features in India.

The XC40 comes powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that develops a maximum power of 188 Bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. It gets an 8-speed automatic transmission and an AWD system. The XC40 is the most powerful SUV in the segment and sure is the most luxurious one too.

TVS Zeppelin

The new TVS Zeppelin shown at the Motor Show was powered by a 220 cc engine paired with 1,200-watt regenerative assist motor with a 48-volt Li-ion battery. This, TVS says, adds to the overall performance of the bike and offers 20 per cent more torque when needed. The bike also gets an integrated starter generator or ISG, which helps the bike to start quickly, giving it a boost.

TVS Zeppelin looks muscular and bold, flaunting some chiselled lines on the fuel tank to add that macho look. The bike also gets USD (up-side down) forks, up front and monoshock at the rear, assisted by dual-channel ABS and the final drive of the bike is via a belt as opposed to a chain. Other features of the bike include LED headlamps, a bio-electric key, digital speedometer, online connectivity and an HD-action camera, mounted on the headlamp nacelle as well, which can give you Go-Proish shots while riding.

X BLADE

Thursday, March 22, 2018

                                       Rs. 79,480

The Honda X-Blade  unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018. The premium commuter bike from Honda, the X-Blade features a sharp design language, a first-in-segment full-LED headlamp and digital instrument console.
Bookings of the X-Blade have already started, and Honda expects a good market response for their latest 160cc product.

The Honda X-Blade shares its motor with the Hornet 160R. But the 162.71cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine puts out 14PS of power at 8500rpm and 13.9Nm of torque at 6000rpm, which is 1.5PS and 1Nm less than the Hornet 160R. The motor is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The X-Blade gets a diamond-type frame suspended on telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a 276mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum brake. It is equipped with a 12-litre fuel tank and tips the scale at 140kg (kerb).

The unique features of the Honda X-Blade design give the motorcycle a distinct position in the commuter bike segment. The front cowl, the fuel tank, and the tail-section of the Honda X-Blade feature a noticeably sharp profile.

Full-LED Headlamp

The ‘Robo-face' headlamp unit (name given by Honda themselves) features a first-in-segment full-LED cluster. The cowl surrounding it, is finished with the least of curves. The rather tall windscreen of the Honda X-Blade is both functional as well as aesthetic.

Sporty Colours

The Honda X-Blade comes with funky graphics and colours which highlight the sharp body elements. The new X-Blade is available in five colours, namely - Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Matte Frozen Silver Metallic, Pearl Spartan Red, Pearl Igneous Black and Matte Marshal Green Metallic.

Honda X-Blade Adventure Variant

The funkier sibling of the X-Blade, the X-Blade Adventure features a taller windscreen, a neatly integrated crash guard and an eye-catching dual-tone paint scheme. The Honda X-Blade Adventure is aimed to be a budget touring motorcycle for beginners. The X-Blade Adventure also gets a rear luggage rack, which can affix a top box. Other than that, the Honda X-Blade Adventure features similarly to the regular model.

 Fully-Digital Instrument Console

The digital instrument console blends well with the other sharp features of the Honda X-Blade. The flat-hexagon console displays all the vital information one would expect, plus a service reminder and a gear-shift indicator.
